About Marie

A versatile, mission-driven communicator

My eight years of experience spans big-picture strategy and project management to content creation across channels.

My career began at what I lovingly think of as “communications boot camp” — a communications consulting firm where I worked alongside pros to amplify the work of nonprofits and foundations.

I brought what I learned to the Brookings Institution, where I started in their Central Communications department, coordinating across the institution on 200-plus events per year and growing my digital media skills through social media and newsletters.

I went on to serve as Communications Manager for The Hamilton Project at Brookings. There, as the project’s sole communications staffer, I created and executed communications plans and positioned experts as thought leaders.

Today, I serve as Marketing and Communications Manager at Equal Justice Works, where I project manage and collaborate across teams to ensure our campaigns are efficient and effective.

I hold a BA in Government and English from Smith College and a Certificate in Strategic Media Communications from NYU.

Beyond work…

You can find me trying new recipes, going to cheap concerts, hiking, and exploring museums. I grew up in Colorado and now live with my spouse and our talkative cat in Washington, DC.
