Multimedia
To communicate the big ideas of a proposal for a federal earned time off program, I created a video and a series of short graphics for social media.

Graphics
Below are examples of graphics I’ve created to promote reports, events, and other content on social media.

Media relations
Challenge
In 2024, The Hamilton Project’s director discovered that immigration flows had significantly exceeded the projections used in economists’ calculations. I faced the challenge of effectively communicating this technical but consequential analysis on a politically sensitive topic.
Approach
I started by researching the context and meeting with the author to discuss what this report added to the conversation and how to frame the findings.
We focused on the implications for the labor market: Higher immigration rates mean that employment growth did not need to slow significantly to get the labor market to a sustainable pace. (At the time, there was concern that the labor market was running too hot and fueling inflation.)
I sent tailored pitches to:
- Labor reporters, going deeper on the findings about the labor market and reupping before big “Jobs Days” – when the release of the monthly employment report prompted assessments of the labor market.
- Immigration reporters, leading first with the measurement comparison before turning to the economic implications
- Broadcast reporters, giving a high overview of the findings and offering the authors as experts to speak more generally on the economics of immigration.
- Federal Reserve reporters, emphasizing the implications for inflation.
- Political reporters when immigration and the labor market was being featured in the political conversation.
Results
The analysis garnered over a hundred citations, including in Axios, Bloomberg, NBC, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal. This helped to position the authors as experts on immigration and the economy, generating further media coverage. The report and its media coverage helped to inform policymakers and Federal Reserve officials, who cited the analysis.
Newsletter design
Volunteering for my college’s local alumni group, I redesigned their newsletter to apply more consistent branding and highlight local alums.
